About the Role
The Senior Occupational Therapist is an experienced practitioner with demonstrated clinical expertise within their specialty area. Working with a specific client group, they deliver client, family, and whanau-centred care as part of an interdisciplinary team.This role is primarily clinical, with additional leadership and management responsibilities supporting and mentoring junior staff.
As a senior clinician, you will hold a designated portfolio and provide leadership in clinical education, service development, and quality improvement initiatives relevant to your specialty. You will complete comprehensive assessments and deliver innovative, outcome-focused care using evidence-based practice, interventions, and education.
Specific objectives for the role will be agreed upon with your Clinical Lead (or delegate) as part of the annual performance planning process.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our Hapai Ora team work together to support our young people and their whanau through their journey in moving forward with their lives. We offer an innovative and youth friendly service to tangata whai i te ora up to age 30 that are experiencing a first episode of psychosis.We provide services to those living in the Te Toka Tumai geographic area.
Our diverse team is made up of experienced mental health professionals including Specialist Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists Psychotherapists, Social Workers, Mental Health Nurses and Occupational Therapists as well as on site Cultural Advisors (Maori/Pacifica), Peer and Rainbow Support, a Consumer Consultant and an Employment Consultant imbedded with the team.

About you
To succeed in this role, you will:
- Have a current New Zealand Registration
- Have a current APC (annual practicing certificate)
- A minimum of four years post-graduate experience including a minimum of two years within the area of specialty
- Previous experience in relevant clinical area
