THE CAREER OPPORTUNITY:We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our busy Bay of Plenty team. With a passion for building maintenance, you will be a strong all-rounder with a broad range of trade skills.
Your duties will include:- Performing a range of building maintenance tasks – repairing buildings, doors, windows, timber framing
- Internal and external refurbishment of buildings
- Framing work, plasterboard replacement, minor plaster work
- Minor Interior & exterior paintwork
- Decking and cladding, hard landscaping e.g. fencing
- Carry out site inspections to identify and resolve issues as required
- Quoting on minor project works
- Coordinating staff & subcontractors where necessary
- Attending to after-hours calls and emergencies where required
- Completing all jobs to a high standard to mitigate callbacks
- Planning daily to tackle jobs as efficiently as possible
- Maintaining your vehicle and company equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
- Complying with all Health, Safety Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures
- 2–5 years in trade or building maintenance. Experience measuring and quoting small jobs is highly advantageous.
- Comfortable using trade-based mobile apps for job management and reporting.
- A proactive approach to Health & Safety. Valid Site Safe, First Aid, EWP, or Working at Heights tickets are highly regarded.
- Punctual and prepared for early morning starts. You must hold a valid Full Class 1 Driver’s Licence.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to represent the "Access" brand professionally on-site.
- Capable of working independently or as part of a team, even in adverse weather or challenging environments.
