We are seeking an experienced and skilled cook to join our new restaurant. The ideal candidate will be confident in traditional Asian (Thai is ideal) food preparation and will has at least three years of experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

You must be a dedicated kitchen professional who values efficiency, food safety, and culinary presentation. If you bring a background in food prep, knife skills, and strong cooking techniques, this is a great opportunity to apply your talents.

• Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Thai dishes, including curries, stir-fries, soups, and grilled meals
• Examine food items to ensure quality and freshness
• Regulate oven, grill, and wok temperatures for optimal cooking results
• Season food accurately with an understanding of Asian spices and herbs
• Plate meals attractively, adding appropriate garnishes and sauces
• Store raw and cooked food safely, maintaining temperature controls
• Follow special dietary instructions (e.g., vegetarian, gluten-free)
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen
• Plan menus, estimate food requirements, and train junior kitchen staff

• Experienced in food preparation, food handling, and chef support
• Knowledgeable about food storage, butchery skills, and kitchen safety protocols
• Skilled in knife work, cooking techniques, and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment
• Capable of working under pressure in a busy team while upholding high standards

• NZ Register Level 4 qualification in Cookery, or
• At least three years of relevant work experience in Asian cuisine
