About the Role- Permanent

Our Cardiology Nurse Practitioner will provide advanced, patient-centred care across the continuum of cardiology services within Waitemata District, with a particular focus on heart failure. You will be a clinician that functions both autonomously and collaboratively, delivering expert assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management for patients with complex and chronic cardiac conditions.
This role is integral to improve access, equity, and health outcomes for the Waitemata population by supporting timely, high-quality care across acute, inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. A key focus is the proactive management of heart failure and other cardiology conditions to reduce avoidable hospital admissions, support early intervention, and enable safe transitions of care between hospital and community services
About the Team/Service/ Location
This role works across North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals.
You will work in partnership with patients/tangata whaiora and their whanau, the multidisciplinary team, primary care providers, and Maori health services to deliver holistic, culturally safe care that reflects Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and promotes equitable outcomes for Maori.
About you
Youre a clinical leader who inspires others and drives excellence in cardiology.
You bring:
- Registration as a Registered Nurse in New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate
- Nurse Practitioner as approved and endorsed by the Nursing Council of New Zealand
- A minimum of 5 years acute nursing experience, including contemporary Cardiology experience
- A masters degree in nursing, including a prescribing practicum
- A calm, adaptable approach with a strong can-do attitude and commitment to service improvement
