We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance Planner to join our client’s high-performing manufacturing plant in New Plymouth. This is your chance to take ownership of critical maintenance operations and play a key role in keeping production running at peak efficiency.
About the Role
As the Maintenance Planner/ Scheduler, you will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, and coordination of all maintenance activities across the site. You’ll ensure that the right resources, tools, and materials are in place to support safe and efficient operations.This position is crucial to reducing downtime and improving productivity across the plant.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain comprehensive maintenance schedules for production equipment
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs and preventative maintenance
- Monitor performance metrics and identify improvement opportunities
- Procure parts, tools, and materials for planned and emergency maintenance
- Conduct regular inspections to detect potential issues before they escalate
- Work closely with production managers to minimise downtime and optimise equipment uptime
About You
You’ll bring a strong mix of technical, organisational, and communication skills. You are driven by results and take pride in contributing to operational excellence.
We’re looking for someone with:- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment
- Proficiency in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- The ability to prioritise, multitask, and deliver under pressure
- Clear and confident communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- A relevant trade qualification (Electrical or Mechanical Fitter)
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar manufacturing or industrial maintenance role
- Sound understanding of health, safety, and regulatory standards
