Assistant Clinical Manager Mental Health
- Waikeria Hikitia describes a collection of mental health and additions services in the Waikato region across our three prisons: Waikeria, Tongariro and Springhill Corrections Facility.
Hikitia has been designed to address the over-representation of prisoners with mental health and addictions issues and is the first of its kind in Aotearoa New Zealand.
It will provide multi-treatment mental health and addictions services, within the prison environment.Ngā kawenga | About the roleThe Assistant Clinical Manager Mental Health supports in providing effective, culturally informed and efficient mental health service delivery that facilitates clinical excellence, improved wellbeing, and good health outcomes for the people in our care and management.
The Assistant Clinical Manager leads the day-to-day practice of multi-disciplinary mental health team across the prison site contributes to and supports the implementation of a whānau centric model of care which tackles inequity for Māori, and which aligns to Hōkai Rangi, and supports best clinical practice.
Some travel may be required.He kōrero mōu | About you We are looking for an experienced health leader to guide a multidisciplinary team delivering trauma-informed, culturally grounded care.
You'll bring proven leadership skills, strong clinical expertise, and a deep understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, the impact of colonisation on wellbeing, and indigenous health models.You'll have experience in service delivery, quality improvement, risk management, and stakeholder engagement across health and justice sectors.
The ability to think both practically and strategically, analyse data, and support a team's development is essential.A clean, full NZ driver's licence is required a registered health professional with an annual practising certificate.Utu ā-tau | SalaryThe full salary range is $125,985- $157,54. Appointment and remuneration will reflect clinical competency, skills, and experience relevant to the role.
