Community Support Worker - Evening & Weekend work

Are you an evening person? Do you prefer having your days off during the week? We are seeking Community Support Workers who are flexible to work late afternoons, evenings, and overnight shifts during the week (3pm–9am, Thursday–Tuesday), as well as all hours across Saturdays and Sundays.

The ability to work weekends is a requirement of this role.

Support work is fun, people-facing, challenging, and very rewarding, and it is also a deeply empathetic journey. It is more than a job; it is an opportunity to provide invaluable support, led by the people you will be supporting.

Responsibilities may Include:
  • Assisting with personal cares (showering, bathing)
  • Supporting exercise programmes
  • Household management and meal preparation
  • Medication support
  • Assisting with accessing the community
  • Bowel, bladder, and catheter care
  • Moving and handling (hoists and manual transfers)
Job Location: Bay of plenty

Employment Type: Part-Time (Up to 29 Hours)

The candidate would have (Candidate Pre-Requisites):
  • Previous experience in healthcare would be an added advantage and those looking to enter the healthcare sector will also be considered (comprehensive training can be provided).
  • Access to your own car and ability to drive Independently ( a Full New Zealand Driver's License is a must)
  • Flexibility to travel
  • Flexibility to work on a rotating roster
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand is a must.

  • Pay Band: $24.13 - $30.78 per hour (This is based on the Pay Equity Settlement 2017 – hourly pay rates based on equivalency of Healthcare Qualifications assessed under Pay Equity).
