Licensed Duty Manager

The Licensed Duty Manager is responsible for the effective day-to-day management of licensed premises operated by Fire Wood Limited. The role ensures compliance with New Zealand alcohol legislation, supervises staff, maintains operational standards, and delivers a safe and welcoming environment for patrons.

• Oversee daily bar operations, including opening and closing procedures
• Supervise staff and ensure efficient service during trading hours
• Prepare and manage staff rosters in line with business requirements
• Ensure compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012
• Monitor patron behaviour and enforce host responsibility practices
• Operate and supervise TAB services, including customer assistance and cash handling
• Oversee gaming machine operations, ensuring compliance with venue policies and regulatory requirements
• Handle cash management, daily bankings, and reconciliation
• Operate POS systems and report discrepancies as required
• Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier coordination
• Maintain high standards of customer service
• Ensure health and safety requirements are met at all times

• Current LCQ and Manager’s Certificate, or ability to obtain
• Minimum 2–3 years’ relevant experience in hospitality, preferably in a supervisory or management role
• Strong knowledge of alcohol licensing laws and compliance obligations
• Good communication, leadership, and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
