About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga This is a full- time permanent role.Based in Auckland, the Senior Advisor
- Business Continuity & Emergency Management works within the BCM/EM team to develop and build the Ministry's capability in business continuity and emergency management and contributes to the Ministry's ability to respond to disruptive events.
Your ability to establish positive, consultative style working relationships with people at all levels is a key success factor for this role.
Together with managers and senior leaders, you'll facilitate the process of developing, implementing and embedding the Ministry's business continuity management arrangements.You'll be involved in developing and testing arrangements within the Ministry, and its external relationships, to ensure that plans are appropriate, tested and referred to in response to potential disruptive events.
Your ability to critically assess and provide credible suggestions is a key element of the role.
The ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and build capability in others to respond is also important.
Key elements of the role include: Establish and maintain the Ministry's resilience and continuity capability.
Coordinate and enhance the Ministry's ability to respond to disruptive events.Be a responsive partner to the Ministry's senior leadership.
Represent the Business Continuity and Emergency Management operations in northern parts of the country.
Salary range: $99,496
- $120,690 per annum + 3% kiwi saver.
The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

You will also offer: High-level interpersonal skills and the ability to be calm in high pressure situations.
A highly organised approach to programme management, reporting and the ability to balance working independently and within a team environment.The ability to gather and interpret information, conduct analysis and identify gaps and the ability to influence others to enable delivery of the BCM/EM programme.
A mature approach to business resilience and an ability to communicate clearly and precisely..
The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
