Cutting and Packing Team Member

Cheese cutting, packing and processing:

• Work to the production plan to cut and pack handcrafted cheeses for the New Zealand domestic market
• Select and bring through bulk aged cheeses for the day's cutting
• Cutting and weighing cheese
• Working with wires, frames, presses and knives to cut our cheeses attractively, while minimsing waste
• Packaging and labelling cheeses for retail sale
• Packing out finished cheese to the finished goods warehouse for sale to NZ retailers
• Cleaning - lots of cleaning!
• Work to the company Food Safety Plan to ensure the quality and safety of our cheese
• Be involved in general factory quality control and process improvement
• Learn more about the art and science of cheesemaking
• Step up to assisting with processing and administration of production jobs as opportunities become available

Our team and location make Barrys Bay a great place to work for Peninsula residents. We strongly prefer candidates who live locally. The drive from Christchurch is a long one before and after a day of physical work.

We are looking for someone who is used to working with their hands, who is physically fit and who, ideally, has some experience from manufacturing and food production environments.
