Fabricator/Welder - Structural Steel - Te Awamutu
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Welder/Fabricator works in a team responsible for efficiently fabricating and welding on a variety of commercial, industrial and residential projects from our Hub in Cambridge.
To be successful in this role you must:- Have a National Certificate in Welding (L3) or higher and at least 2 years’ experience in structural steel welding.
- Have a proven record in demonstrating Safe work practices and be qualified or willing to qualify in use of Overhead Gantry Crane and OSH Forklift
- Have a proven ability to read and interpret shop drawings and fabricate/assemble accordingly
- The ability to communicate clearly in English and understand instructions
To be selected for this role you must be eligible to work in New Zealand and you must be able to pass a pre-employment medical check.
Key Tasks:- To accurately set up equipment and complete final welding of components using a variety of welding equipment.
- To efficiently repair metal products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling parts.
- Set up and operate arc or flame-cutting equipment to shape metal components to specified dimensions.
- To weld and fabricate in accordance with relevant specifications and standards
- To investigate the cause of non-conformance of work and or material.
- Undertake inspections at control points within welding process as per company policies and procedures.
