Bazzas Burger Bar caters to the clients of the Waimarino Adventure Park and Waimarino Education Trust. Operating 7-days a week over the peak season, and operating weekends, School Holidays, Public Holidays and selected weekdays when School Programmes are operating.

Opening hours change with the season and with the quantity of customers.

The key purpose of this role is to manage the operations of Bazza’s Burger Bar ensuring a safe operation and a high quality of product delivery.

Prerequisites: Valid First Aid Certificate

Current full driving license
Experience working in a commercial kitchen, cooking burgers, making coffee and drinks
Experience using a Till

Experience Training and Managing Staff

The primary indicators of success in this role are:
  1. Anyone who deals with with Bazza’s Burger Bar will comment on the delicious food, and friendly staff and where there are difficulties or disputes, that these are handled with care and consideration.
  2. Customers leave saying they will recommend this experience to their friends.
  3. You and your staff do not burn out.
General staff Management
  • Recruitment of staff
  • Rostering of staff, including weekends, ensuring pre-opening and post-closing activities are covered effectively.
  • Performance reviews of staff and keeping record of any meetings, reviews and training logs.
Staff team training - Training staff in all aspects of Bazza’s Burger Bar
  • Ensure they have extensive knowledge of the Adventure Park broad knowledge of the Waimarino Groups offerings.
  • Ensure they have extensive knowledge of Waimarino Values and Culture and that this shows up in the greeting of customers.
  • Training of reception staff in all operational aspects of Bazza’s, including but not limited to;
o Open Procedure
o Cleanliness standards
o Welcoming of customers
o Sale of food and drinks, via card, cash and voucher payments
o Handling enquiries allergen enquires
o Making cold drinks
o Making and serving food
o Barista Training
o Cash handling and cash out
o Refunds policy and processing of refunds
o Dealing with incidents and first aid
o Handling of complaints, when and who to escalate to
o End of Day close down procedure.
  • Training of reception staff in all Health and Safety aspects of the Adventure Park and Burger Bar, including but not limited to;
o Understand and operate all tasks as per the SMS
o Health and Safety briefing of customers
o No Waiver form – no entry enforcement
o First Aid Procedure
o Oil Spills, Burns, Scalds, Fire Procedure

o Completing incident forms as required

Day to Day Tasks
Ensure a high quality of customer service in the Bazza’s Burger Bar is maintained
  • Preparation, cooking and serving of all food and drinks on the menu
  • Taking orders and completing these from start to finish
  • Ensure a high level of care is taken to maintain and clean the Bazza’s Burger Bar Kitchen, equipment and facilities.
  • Ensure there is an efficient use of staff time
  • Working within resource and budget constraints to deliver an excellent product
  • Ensure a clean and tidy workplace is maintained, including all areas
  • Ensure that all staff have a thorough understanding of the products and their delivery. And all staff have extensive knowledge of Waimarino Values and Culture and that this shows up in the greeting of customers.
  • Ensure an effective complaints procedure for the Bazza’s Burger Bar exists and is refined as necessary alongside the Office Manager.
  • Assist with the management organising custom bookings for Bazza’s Burger Bar
  • Ensure that Bazza’s Burger Bar complies with all necessary Health and Safety Standards including any audits and compliance.
  • Facilitate the day to day operation of the Bazza’s Burger Bar ensuring that all staff understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Day to day management of staffing Bazza’s Burger Bar including managing breaks, staff presentation, and areas of responsibility.
  • Waste management, sorting and disposal of rubbish and recycling
  • Ensuring that healthy and safety procedures are understood and implemented by staff
  • Emergency response alongside other managers and staff if required
General administration activities
  • Ordering Stock as required
  • Monthly reporting to Management Team
  • Attending regular management and staff meetings
  • Assisting the team as required
  • Assisting with the overall growth and development of the Waimarino Group
Processes and procedures
  • Ensuring the Food Control Plan is up to Standard
  • Ensuring Food Safety at all times
  • Creation of any additional processes and procedures as necessary.
As a member of Waimarino’s core staff you are also required to do the following:
  • Regular and open lines of communication with Operations Manager, OSCAR Manager and Director
  • Take an active part in management meetings
  • Take an active part in staff meetings
