Automotive Technician - Auto Electrician

Automotive Technician -Auto Electrician is responsible for investigating problems with different types of motor vehicles and making repairs accordingly. This can include anything from routine maintenance work to specialized repairs. As such, as an Automotive Technician-Auto Electrician, your day-to-day duties and responsibilities would differ depending on the jobs assigned.

These would include:

  • Assessing vehicles and/or machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues. This includes inspecting vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components
  • Using manual and computerized diagnostic methods to identify potential problems in a car
  • Performing automotive electrical duties to repair and maintain vehicles in good condition
  • Detect and note down defects in automotive systems
  • Liaising with the manager to determine the automotive requirements and communicate vehicular defects or problems
  • Conducting repairs aiming for maximum reliability
  • Provide routine inspections of vehicles and advise manager of any issues
  • Conducting routine maintenance work aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity
  • Testing parts and systems to ensure right functionality
  • Repairing or replacing worn, old or defective parts of a car
  • Keeping an accurate log of all work performed
  • Maintaining and cleaning garage equipment and tools to ensure they are kept in a safe and usable condition at all times
Repair and sevice of air conditioning systems
  • Adhering to company work safety policies.
  • Other duties include carrying out all instructions from the employer (as long as the instructions are lawful and reasonable).

About you:

The ideal candidate for the role would need to meet the following requirements and have:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant and applicable work experience as an auto electrician
  • Experience working with European brand vehicles
  • Valid driver’s licence.
Other requirements:
  • Must have their own basic hand tools of trade to be able to perform the job
  • Clean police record.
