About the Role
You will work with world-class machinery and equipment from leading brands including Kubota, Landini, Brevi, Pichon and Vredo. As a Field Service Technician, you will be fully supported by our dedicated Technical Support Specialists and benefit from ongoing training and development through our purpose-built National Training Centre in Palmerston North.
You will be required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week within our core business days and hours of Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm and also participate in a roster to provide on-call support to Norwood customers.
What you will do
The Field Service Technician is responsible for servicing, diagnosing, and repairing tractors and other agricultural machinery to a high standard, ensuring customer satisfaction, safety, and minimal downtime.
Your primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Carry out servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of machinery, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by keeping customers informed, setting realistic expectations, and respecting customer property.
- Work collaboratively with the wider dealership team (parts, sales, service) to deliver strong customer outcomes.
- Apply correct work procedures and technical standards, ensuring all jobs are completed safely, on time, and to the required quality.
What you will bring
This role requires technical expertise, professionalism, and a strong focus on accuracy, communication, and accountability when working independently in the field or within the workshop, as well as:
- Heavy automotive trade qualification and/or at least 3 years' experience in repairs & servicing of heavy machinery.
- Experience with agricultural machinery highly preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge and advanced skills in diagnosis, repairs and servicing
- Computer skills including the use of OEM diagnostic software
- Great customer service and communication skills
- Strong hands-on work ethic with a focus on quality repairs, getting the job done right and on time, and accurately completing all job documentation.
