Summer Line Cook - Fixed Term

Black Label Barbecue is looking for an experienced CDP-level line cook to join our kitchen team over the busy summer period. This fixed-term role runs through to April (with some flexibility around end dates) and suits a chef who enjoys high-volume service, strong systems, and consistently high standards — great for those studying or wanting to make the most of summer in Rotorua and the Central North Island.

• Working the line during busy service periods
• Preparing and cooking menu items to Black Label Barbecue standards
• Maintaining consistency, quality, and attention to detail across every plate
• Supporting prep, service, and close-down
• Working alongside senior chefs and experienced pitmasters as part of a tight, well-run kitchen

• Proven experience as a CDP, line cook, or currently studying/training to be a chef
• Confidence running a section during service
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
• Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen discipline
• Reliable, switched-on, and a good team fit
