Cinema Supervisor
We're looking for someone with a passion for hospitality and cinema to fill a permanent part-time shift supervisor position at our Petone cinema. This would be for 16-20 hours per week worked across three shifts. If you are looking for more hours, and already have a Manager's certificate, then 20-25 hours across four shifts could be available.
This position would suit someone who prides themselves on delivering exceptional customer service, can make a great coffee, and loves film. Previous experience in a licenced premise is essential as this role requires a Manager's certificate. To obtain a Manager's certificate you will need to be 20+ years of age, with 6 months recent experience in a licenced premise and have a clean criminal record.
Hours will be worked across a 7-day roster - between 8am and midnight - and are usually a mix of opening and closing shifts. Our busiest times are the weekends so applicants must be available to work Saturday nights and on Sundays.
Supervisors monitor digital projection (training provided), lead a small team and ensure everything on shift runs smoothly.
Key qualities sought:
- Manager's certificate or ability to obtain one within 3 months ( 20+ years of age, clean criminal record, 6+ months recent experience in a licenced premise in New Zealand)
- LCQ (training provided)
- Recent hospitality experience
- An eager and fast learner
- Willing to go the extra mile
- Positive and friendly nature
- Barista experience is preferred
- Ability to monitor digital projection (training provided)
Experience working in a customer service position is preferred and you must:
- Have an interest in film – staff are encouraged to watch the films and read reviews
- Provide excellent customer service
- Have great communication and organisational skills
- Have reliable transport - evening shifts don't often align with public transport timetables
