Payroll Administrator

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team on a part-time basis, working Monday to Wednesday. Flexible hours are available for the right candidate.
This role is suited to a payroll professional who thrives in a structured environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and process payroll for weekly, fortnightly, and monthly pay cyclesGather and validate employee information, including time and attendance data (Bundy & TimeDock)
Process payroll transactions including allowances, bonuses, terminations, commissions, and backpays
Manage deductions such as tax, KiwiSaver, ACC, and other statutory obligations
Ensure payroll compliance with the Holidays Act, Employment Relations Act, Wages Protection Act, and other relevant legislation
Prepare and submit reporting requirements including Payday Filing
Maintain up-to-date personnel and leave records for all employees
Provide timely and helpful support to staff and management regarding payroll matters
Maintain payroll systems (MYOB PayGlobal preferred) and keep knowledge of employment legislation current
Develop strong working relationships across departments and offer best practice solutions aligned with employment law
Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in end-to-end NZ payroll processingStrong knowledge of employment law, especially the Holidays Act
Experience with payroll and accounting systems (ideally MYOB PayGlobal, Syteline, SAP)
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage deadlines independently while maintaining confidentiality
Strong communication and organisational skills
Familiarity with general HR practices is an advantage
