Due to retirement, we are seeking a passionate educator to join our Focused Learning Service. This team is led by an education specialist and is committed to evidence based intervention, working collaboratively to support both teaching staff and akonga in a nurturing, boy friendly environment.This is a part-time, fixed-term position through to the end of 2025, pending a review of resource requirements.
- About You
You will bring expertise in supporting akonga who learn differently and a proactive approach that aligns with Medbury’s values of Respect, Empathy, Excellence, and Integrity. To be successful in this role, you will have:
- New Zealand teacher registration and experience delivering learning support interventions to primary aged students.
- Experience with, or motivation to learn, scripted Direct Instruction programmes.
- The ability to deliver highly structured, precision teaching interventions.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills aligned with evidence based practice.
- The ability to develop lasting relationships to connect with groups of akonga, particularly at Year 8 level.
- A collaborative approach to promoting awareness of learning challenges and strategies to support akonga and their whanau.
