We’re a contracting company supporting the kiwifruit industry in the Bay of Plenty. We manage tray-making operations for several packhouses during the harvest season and oversee a variety of orchard work in the off-season

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to lead our tray-making and orchard operations team. This is a hands-on role with night shift responsibilities during the season and orchard supervision duties during the rest of the year.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and supervise 16 tray-making machines during night shifts

Lead and manage a team of up to 40 workers

Coordinate with packhouse managers to meet daily box production needs

Supervise orchard teams across tasks such as: flower picking, pruning, thinning, canopy management, general orchard maintenance, etc.

Communicate with growers to plan work based on each orchard’s needs

What We’re Looking For:

At least 3 years’ experience in tray making or similar packaging roles

Experience supervising large teams in a fast-paced environment

Good communication skills — Spanish is a plus, as we work with many international staff

Strong understanding of kiwifruit packhouse and orchard operations

Willingness to work night shifts and extended hours during peak season

Full driver’s licence required
