The Upper Hutt Cossie Club is looking for a reliable, friendly, and flexible team member to join our Operations team in a multi-functional evening role.

This position includes driving our Courtesy Coach, but it is not limited to driving. We are looking for someone who is happy to be hands-on across the Club and assist wherever needed.

About the role

This is an evening/night role, currently covering: Saturday, Sunday and Monday evenings.

The successful applicant will be responsible for safely transporting members in the Courtesy Coach while also supporting the wider team during the shift. When not driving, you may be assisting behind the bar, helping with service, clearing tables, restocking, supporting functions, assisting with cleaning duties, or helping in other areas of the Club as required.

Key duties may include:
  • Driving the Courtesy Coach safely and professionally
  • Providing friendly and efficient service to members and guests
  • Assisting with bar service, including serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Operating POS and EFTPOS systems accurately
  • Clearing tables and keeping service areas clean and tidy
  • Restocking bar and service areas
  • Assisting with functions and events when required
  • Supporting front of house and general Club operations
  • Following health, safety, hygiene, host responsibility, and Club policies
  • Assisting with end-of-night cleaning, security, and shutdown procedures
  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties as required by the Duty Manager or Operations Manager
We are looking for someone who:
  • Has a full, clean driver licence
  • Is confident driving at night
  • Has excellent customer service skills
  • Is friendly, reliable, and professional
  • Can work well under pressure
  • Is flexible and willing to help wherever needed
  • Enjoys working as part of a team
  • Has hospitality or bar experience, or is willing to learn
  • Understands the importance of safety, responsibility, and member care

This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, likes working with people, and is happy to be part of a busy evening team.

The Upper Hutt Cossie Club is committed to providing exceptional service, a welcoming atmosphere, and a safe and enjoyable environment for our members, guests, and staff.

A Duty Manager’s Certificate or LCQ would be an advantage but is not essential.
