About theRole IntellectualDisability (ID) Forensic Services is part of the Mental Health Addiction andIntellectual Disability Service Directorate (MHAIDS). It has adult, youth and community services.We currently have avacancy for a Team Leader for the Intellectual Disability Service, workingacross our inpatient Service.We are aprogressive service committed to providing a culture of ongoing professionaldevelopment for staff through regular clinical supervision, excellentprofessional development and recognition programme (PDRP) for nursing, regularin-service training and support towards external educationAbout theTeam/Service/ Location The Intellectual Disability SecureServices has regional and National services: Haumietiketike is a regional intellectual disabilityadult secure forensic unit which has eleven beds.

The Step-Down Rehabilitative Cottages include twoseparate houses providing four adult beds in each cottage. Hikitia Te Wairua is the National intellectual disabilitysecure forensic unit for young people with six beds. This building isco-located with the Rangatahi (Youth Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit) andNga Taiohi (National Secure Youth Forensic Unit).Manawai Individualised Service Units (ISU) is a six bedNational facility for adults with an intellectual disability and/or mentalillness who have conditions of such severity that they have been subject tolong-term hospital level care compromising their quality of life.We have a Model of Care, which incorporates all thefeatures of current best practice within forensic secure services includingPositive Behaviour Support, nuanced risk assessment, and psychologicalformulation.

All staff receive training on Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) asthis is the basis for our philosophy of care within the service.About youThe purpose ofthe role is to ensure that the adult inpatient Intellectual Disability servicedelivers an effective and efficient service that facilitates clinical andcultural excellence and desired rehabilitation outcomes.Be a registered healthprofessional.Experience in leading a team ofclinicians and administration staff.Experience in negotiation andnetworking across several disciplines.Experience in taking ownership,accountability and responsibility for the role.Experience in anticipating,identifying, resolving clinical and administrative/management problems to thedesired goals.Experience in managing change.A highlevel of flexibility, self-motivation, responsiveness and clinical judgement.Commitmentto personal and professional development.Commitmentto equity, equal employment and educational opportunities.Working at HealthNew Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is'the weaving of wellness'.
