About the Role The Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Coordinator works collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team at the Child Development Centre, alongside medical, allied health, and Kaitiaki staff. The role also involves liaising with education providers and community disability support services to ensure appropriate supports are available for children and their whānau/families, both before and after diagnosis.

This position supports children and young people aged 019 years with physical and/or developmental disabilities. Key responsibilities:Coordinate assessments for children and young people (019) referred to the Child Development Centre with developmental concerns.Manage post-diagnosis support for individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ensuring timely access to services.Engage and support whānau, providing clear, culturally responsive information and guidance throughout the process.Facilitate collaboration between health professionals, educators, and community agencies to deliver integrated care.Monitor and report progress, maintaining accurate records and aligning plans with best practice and sector standards.Click here to view the position description.

About the TeamThe role sits within the Allied Health Service in Child Development Service. Child Development Service provides Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Dietetic, Audiology & New Born Hearing screening, Social Work, and Psychology services.
Staff within these professions are all involved in direct client care and work in a wide range of situations to improve the health and wellbeing of the people they work with.
