Bar Manager

We are looking for a committed and motivated Bar Manager to join Blue Ice Restaurant and Bar. Our venue operates from 10:00 am to 4:00 am, providing a vibrant, fast-paced hospitality environment. Full bar training can be provided for the right candidate.

Skills and Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience OR a Level 5 National Diploma in Hospitality (Operational Management)
  • Superior customer service skills

  • Must be available to work weekend and the rostered hours
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure full compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, the premises liquor licence, and all relevant legal and host responsibility requirements.
  • Manage liquor inventory and purchasing, including stock control, weekly assessments, tapping kegs, and replenishing stock.
  • Supervise, train, roster, and support bar staff, including performance management, appraisals, and disciplinary processes.
  • Maintain a safe and compliant environment for staff and patrons, including adherence to health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
  • Monitor business performance against budgets and implement cost-effective promotional and marketing initiatives.
  • Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring the bar, equipment, and customer areas are clean, prepared, and running efficiently.
  • Secure all business funds and activate security systems when closing the premises.
  • Maintain required records such as the Manager on Duty logbook and incident registers.
  • Assist with restaurant service when required, including taking orders, assisting customers with special needs, and managing bookings.
  • Plan and manage special functions and events as needed.
  • Contribute positively to the management team to maximise sales, customer satisfaction, and overall business performance.
Employment Conditions and Work Schedule
  • Employment Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
  • Location: Franz Josef, West Coast
  • Pay Range: $28.00 – $30.00 per hour
  • Minimum Guaranteed Hours: 30 hours per week
  • Rotating roster - shifts may fall anytime between 10:00 am – 4:00 am
  • Night and weekend availability required

Preferred:

  • LCQ Certificate - (full training and support can be provided if you do not currently hold this)
  • Current Manager’s Certificate in accordance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 - (full training and support can be provided if you do not currently hold this)
