Preschool Cook
Discovery Junction is a privately-owned preschool, and we are on the hunt for an awesome Cook to join our team as our lovely cook is moving house after being with us for four years.
The role will be for approximately 28 hours per week (Tuesday - Friday, 8am-330pm), however if you would prefer to work five days rather than four, this could be negotiated.
Much more than a Cook, the person who joins the team at Discovery Junction will become a central person in the lives of our tamariki, as you will be cooking for up to 70 children each day.
Do you have:- A passion for working around children
- A friendly positive can-do attitude
- A love of food and nutrition and preparing imaginative nutritious meals
- Excellent time management skills
- The ability to work independently
Applicants will ideally hold a Food Safety Certificate or be prepared to undertake training towards one. They will also need to be able to plan meals, order and organise supplies and work to deadlines and a budget.
You must reside in and be eligible to work in NZ permanently to apply for this position. Final candidates will be required to undertake a Police Vetting check prior to starting as per our Child Protection Policy.
