Engineering General Manager (with Sales Experience)

Are you a results-driven leader with strong sales expertise and a solid understanding of precision engineering? We’re looking for a General Manager with proven sales experience to lead operations and drive business growth in a well-established precision engineering company.

In this pivotal role, you’ll combine Operational Leadership with Strategic Sales growth, guiding a skilled team while driving new business opportunities and strengthening client partnerships. This is your chance to step into a leadership position where Sales growth meets Operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Leadership:

• Oversee daily operations of the production
• Drive process improvements and ensure operational efficiency
• Lead, mentor, and manage staff to meet performance goals

Sales & Business Development:

• Develop and execute strategic sales plans
• Build strong relationships with existing clients and identify new business opportunities
• Prepare quotes, manage key accounts, and close high-value deals
• Attend industry events and network with stakeholders

Financial & Strategic Management:

• Monitor budgets, margins, and KPIs
• Report directly to the Directors with regular updates
• Assist in planning long-term growth and investment strategies

Skills & Experience:

• They must have a sound knowledge of machining and machine turning, with a minimum of five years' experience. Trade qualification is preferable.
• They must have a sound knowledge of sales, with a minimum of three years' experience.
• They must have experience in managing staff.
• Proven leadership experience in manufacturing, engineering, machining and machine turning
• Strong background in sales and account management
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of CNC machining processes and production timelines
• Ability to read technical drawings and collaborate with design/production teams
• Experience with ERP systems and sales reporting tools a plus

• Stay abreast of the latest tooling technology
• CAD package – Solidworks
• Exposure to CAM
• Proficient MS Office and ERP system.
• Good knowledge of conventional- and CNC machines both turning and milling.
• Good exposure to 5S housekeeping

Expected working hours per week: 40hrs - 52hrs (as required)
