Weekend Cook, Aged Care - Taumarunui
Saturday and Sunday
Are you an accomplished home cook looking to pick up a part-time job or additional hours?
We are on the lookout for a passionate Cook who would enjoy the opportunity to share their culinary skills with the residents at this aged residential care home based in Taumarunui.
This position is covering the Chef Manager’s days off, and we require a reliable and hardworking individual that shares our passion for food and excellent service, and prides themselves on producing consistently delicious and wholesome meals time and time again.The occasional weekend off can be arranged by swapping days with the Chef Manager, and additional hours may be available during the week to cover leave and training days, so flexibility to work across the various shifts of a 7-day roster would be an advantage.
We anticipate a total of 24 hours per week.
To be successful in this role, you do not need to be a qualified chef as you will be working to a set menu. It would suit someone with knowledge and experience in preparing, cooking, and plating wholesome food in a home or community setting. Recipes are provided and training will be given. You will need to have:
- experience preparing, cooking and serving wholesome sweet and savoury food
- an interest in baking
- an understanding of dietary requirements and food control regulations
- experience managing product quality standards and service delivery
- excellent communication skills and a flexible/can-do, committed attitude
- ability to work unsupervised and supervise kitchen staff
- excellent time management skills
- be friendly and engaging and enjoy making the day of residents by serving amazing meals.
