About the Role:
As the Deli Cook Second in Charge, you'll support the Deli Manager in daily operations, ensuring consistently high standards of food preparation, presentation, and customer service. You'll help coach the team, maintain food safety standards, and contribute to creating an inviting and delicious deli offering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the day-to-day running of the Deli
- Prepare and cook high-quality deli products (hot and cold)
- Support and lead a small team, ensuring smooth operations
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards
- Help with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste
- Deliver outstanding customer service and a welcoming deli experience
About You:
- Proven cooking experience in a deli, café, kitchen or food retail setting
- Strong understanding of food safety practices (NZQA Unit Standards a bonus)
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- SAP Knowledge
- Reliable, energetic, and a positive team player
- Able to work flexible hours, including weekends
