HSE Lead

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Lead to join a dynamic project team in the Matamata-Piako area. This is a critical role focused on ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance across all aspects of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):- Champion a safety-first culture across the project site.
- Identify and mitigate site hazards through effective hazard ID and risk management programs.
- Maintain and manage the project Risk Register and HSE Management Plan.
- Conduct site audits, inspections, and investigations with timely reporting.
- Ensure environmental monitoring is current and compliant.
- Support supervisors in SOP awareness and staff competency assessments.
- Maintain training matrices and coordinate required training sessions.
- Identify and address gaps in SOPs and staff training.
- Act as a key HSE contact for project stakeholders, contractors, and community members.
- Facilitate HSE meetings, site tours, and ensure clear communication of HSE matters.
- Represent the project and company in all HSE-related interactions.
- Strong knowledge of NZ HSE laws, regulations, and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead and influence safety culture.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Current Full NZ Driver's Licence required.
