About the Role:

Growtech is looking for motivated Orchard Construction Technicians to join our team. This hands-on role is essential to the construction, maintenance, and repair of orchard infrastructure that supports the development of thriving kiwifruit orchards.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in the Bay of Plenty region.

Key Responsibilities:

Construction & Repairs:

• Perform orchard construction and maintenance tasks assigned by supervisor correctly, timely and safely - including tensioning wire, installing hail nets, operating a Hydraladder and working at elevated heights. Using tools and equipment provided by company such as, post bore auger, chain blocks, cable winches, hydraulic winches, chainsaw and others.
• Operate elevated platforms (Hydraladders) and work safely at heights.
• Perform other duties related to orchard construction and Repairs and maintenance (R&M) works that may be assigned from time to time.

Machinery Operation & Maintenance:

• Operate tractor and trailers for transporting and performing construction activities.
• Perform regular maintenance of tools and equipment as per schedules.
• Health & Safety Compliance:
• Follow Growtech's health and safety protocols, including Onsite check-ins, PPE usage, and machine inspections.
• Report risks, incidents, and comply with the company’s drug and alcohol policy.

Administration & Reporting:

• Record daily timesheet entries using the company's time sheeting app.
• Attend and participate in skill improvement trainings.
• Support all other aspects of our operation across the business when required.

Key Responsibilities & Skills Required:

• Relevant experience in orchard construction or related hands-on work.
• Physically fit and comfortable working at heights.
• Proficiency in operating machinery safely and effectively.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Initiative, a positive mindset, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good English communication skills.
• A team player and works collaboratively.
• Ability to pass pre-employment testing, including drug and alcohol screening if required.
• Full or Restricted NZ Driver Licence
• Willing to travel outside the Waikato region when required
