About the Role:Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to play a critical, hands-on role in keeping production running efficiently. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machinery while ensuring compliance, uptime, and operational excellence, supporting the Operations team to drive efficiency and maintain quality, systems, and standards.
This is a practical role for a motivated Maintenance Fitter who thrives in a fast-paced, growing, and collaborative environment where your skills truly make a difference.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and service all plant, machinery, and equipment
- Carry out scheduled and ad-hoc maintenance to ensure smooth operations
- Implement and maintain maintenance procedures and schedules
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and employment legislation
- Keep accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Conduct daily checks and maintain a clean, safe work environment
- Perform hazard analyses on new equipment and minimise downtime through timely repairs
- Manage spares inventory and order supplies as needed
- Induct contractors and ensure H&S compliance
- Collaborate with team leaders and operators to resolve maintenance issues efficiently
What You'll Bring:
- Trade-qualified in engineering, mechanical, or electrical with relevant hands-on experience ideally in dairy or food manufacturing
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical knowledge with broad engineering skills
- NZ EWRB Limited Electrical License desirable
- Excellent troubleshooting, fault-finding, and problem-solving abilities
- Practical, can-do attitude with attention to detail
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal, and computer literate
- Strong planning, prioritisation, and time management skills
- Able to work independently or collaboratively in a team
- Positive approach to health and safety
- NZ driver’s license required
