This role involves carrying out the repair,maintenance, and enhancement of buildings, building services, equipment, andmanagement systems, from Haast to Karamea.Salary
  • $73,645, uniform, footwear supplied and anallowance for tools, plus phone for use at work.

Key Responsibilities:Maintenance and Repair:Conduct regular inspections of joinery and infrastructure within buildings and sites.Perform maintenance and repairs of joinery items or systems efficiently and within deadlines.Upgrade and replace joinery systems and office furniture as needed.Utilize joinery shop equipment and tools effectively.Support trade staff in general maintenance and engineering-related tasks.Report any faulty or maintenance-required equipment to the Site Maintenance Manager.Maintain clean and functional vehicles, work areas, and storage spaces.Update and manage Maximo work orders promptly and accurately, ensuring labour information is entered by weekly deadlines.Projects:Carry out Capex and Maintenance work and repairs as required.Provide recommendations to the Maintenance Supervisor on improvements to meet quality standards.Complete assigned projects within agreed timelines and budgets.Organize supplier quotes for required materials.Health and Safety Compliance:Follow all Maintenance & Engineering Standards, Operations & Procedures Manual and HNZ Policies and Procedures.

Adhere to building statutory requirements and New Zealand Building Code standards.On-Call Responsibilities:Participate in the on-call roster and respond promptly to urgent work requests.Be available to assist by carrying an HNZ mobile phone during rostered hours.

About youQualifications & Experience:Trade Certificate in carpentry or a related field.Experience working in compliance with building statutory requirements and New Zealand Building Code, BWOF.A working knowledge of locking systems, including electronic door locks.Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively within the HNZ team.Time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask efficiently.Knowledge of building maintenance requirements, trades roles, and their impact on services.Flexibility to adapt skills and tasks based on varying needs.Previous experience in identifying maintenance needs through observation and operational issue resolution.
