Senior Maintenance Technician

About the Role:
  • Preventative and reactive maintenance across factory machinery and automated equipment
  • Fault-finding, servicing, repairs, and installation work as required
  • Working on saws, presses, conveyors, timber handling systems & dust extraction equipment
  • Troubleshooting PLC-controlled machinery, sensors, drives & pneumatic systems
  • Supporting commissioning and upgrades of new machinery and automation systems
  • Recording maintenance activities, faults & corrective actions
  • Working alongside contractors, OEMs & production staff to minimise downtime
  • Supporting continuous improvement and production efficiency initiatives
  • Following safe isolation, lockout/tagout & machine guarding procedures
What We’re Looking For:
  • Previous experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills
  • Practical understanding of automation systems, PLCs, HMIs, sensors & VSDs
  • Ability to read mechanical, pneumatic & basic electrical schematics
  • Experience troubleshooting automated production equipment
  • Good communication, planning & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle breakdowns under pressure
  • Positive attitude with a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement
Requirements:
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test
  • Physically fit and capable of hands-on maintenance work
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand
  • Full driver’s licence preferred
  • Relevant engineering or maintenance qualification advantageous
