Senior Maintenance Technician

About the Role:- Preventative and reactive maintenance across factory machinery and automated equipment
- Fault-finding, servicing, repairs, and installation work as required
- Working on saws, presses, conveyors, timber handling systems & dust extraction equipment
- Troubleshooting PLC-controlled machinery, sensors, drives & pneumatic systems
- Supporting commissioning and upgrades of new machinery and automation systems
- Recording maintenance activities, faults & corrective actions
- Working alongside contractors, OEMs & production staff to minimise downtime
- Supporting continuous improvement and production efficiency initiatives
- Following safe isolation, lockout/tagout & machine guarding procedures
- Previous experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills
- Practical understanding of automation systems, PLCs, HMIs, sensors & VSDs
- Ability to read mechanical, pneumatic & basic electrical schematics
- Experience troubleshooting automated production equipment
- Good communication, planning & problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and handle breakdowns under pressure
- Positive attitude with a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test
- Physically fit and capable of hands-on maintenance work
- Legal right to work in New Zealand
- Full driver’s licence preferred
- Relevant engineering or maintenance qualification advantageous
- Competitive pay based on experience
