Field Operations Manager - Transmission Towers

We’re looking for a Field Operations Manager to lead our Towers Division in Wellington, overseeing maintenance of transmission towers across the lower North Island (Taupo to Wellington). Our “office” is outdoors, and you’ll be leading a crew of 22 Tower Structure Maintainers working on abrasive blasting, painting, and steel replacement projects.
What you’ll be doing- Delivering projects on time, on budget, and to spec
- Maintaining the highest levels of safety and compliance
- Leading Supervisors and Tower Structure Maintainers — developing talent and building strong team culture
- Managing resources, plant, and equipment efficiently
- Building positive relationships with clients, landowners, and stakeholders
- Driving results and keeping operations running smoothly under pressure
- Proven leadership of trade-skilled teams
- Strong background in project or operations management
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
- A problem-solver with a solutions-focused outlook
- Experience planning, delegating, and juggling priorities
- Adaptability, resilience, and ability to think on your feet
- Willingness to travel and stay away when required
Experience working at heights, fall arrest systems, blasting processes, transmission towers, and quality control standards is highly regarded.
