This 0.5 FTE role offers variety, autonomy and the opportunity to support patients across a broad range of clinical presentations.You'll work with people managing long-term conditions, nutrition-related complications, enteral feeding, and recovery post-discharge.
This role includes a mix of face-to-face outpatient clinics, some virtual outpatient clinics and community-based care.While the role covers general outpatient nutrition, interest or experience in areas such as bariatrics, oncology, paediatrics or gastroenterology would be an advantage.
This position suits a dietitian who enjoys working across diverse populations and conditions, and who brings confidence and adaptability to their practice.View position descriptionAbout youTo thrive in this role, you will demonstrate the following:Strong clinical reasoning and confidence in delivering dietetic care across a broad scope of practiceA patient- and whānau-centred approach, with consideration for home, social and cultural contextsExcellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across the healthcare spectrumA passion for generalist practice, while also bringing depth in one or more specialist areasA commitment to innovation, service improvement and equity of access, particularly for underserved communitiesSelf-motivation and independence, with a collaborative approach to team-based careWillingness to support student learning or early career development where appropriateIdeally, you will have three-plus years of clinical dietetic experienceYou must be a New Zealand registered dietitian, hold a current annual practising certificate, and have Dietitian Prescriber endorsement.About the serviceOur Dunedin-based Dietetics team supports inpatient, outpatient and community care across the Southern region.
