We are looking for a Full-time Carpenter / Joiner to work with our busy business in Palmerston North. The company offers good work environment and approachable management. We need someone who is willing to commit to our company and is prepared to take the responsibility and action it.

For this role, your key responsibilities will include:

• Working at worksite to construct, erect, install, renovate, and repair structures made of wood and timber.
• Responsible for assembling prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install.
• Responsible for cutting and shaping of woods
• Selecting timbers and materials and preparing layouts.
• Ensuring everyone’s safety by complying with site Health and safety obligations.
• Focused on customer satisfaction.
• The position sometimes involves handling heavy lifting which will require you to be physically fit.
• Good eye for detail and an ability to solve problems.
• Clean character background
• Zero Tolerance of alcohol and drugs during work hours

Job Requirements:

• Should have 2 years of work experience in similar role or have at least Level 4 or higher qualification in carpentry.
• May need to travel locally.
• The position sometimes involves handling heavy lifting which will require you to be physically fit.
• Clean criminal record and Zero tolerance to drugs at workplace.
• Must have good customer service skills and must be a team player with a can-do attitude.

Your working hours will be minimum of 30 Hours to a maximum of 45 hours. You will be working from Monday to Sunday as per roaster including public holidays. Pay scale will be between NZ$30-$35.
