This role holds strong subject matter expertise, writing and relationship skills, can lead projects of work and will provide leadership on a mix of short- and longer-term mahi within the Planning, Policy and Performance team. This will include analysis of significant policy developments/changes impacting public health, preparation of policy papers, and horizon scanning to identify emerging issues and opportunities of significance to the Public Health Service within the Region.About the Team/Service/ LocationThe NPHS within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention.

You can demonstrate mature communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to write and present effectively, and to develop, unify and maintain strong internal and external relationships essential for achieving sustainable outcomes.A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualificationExperience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in actionA minimum of five years relevant experience in health, public sector or local government planning and/or policyExperience in an advisory role, applying critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options and provide adviceDemonstrates excellent attention to detail and is able to critically assess and refine written materials to ensure clarity, coherence, and consistencySome leadership experience, that may include having designed and managed a project of work and resourcesDemonstrable understanding & experience working in partnership with Māori and/or Pacific People communitiesDemonstrable strong analytical skills combined with an ability to quickly assimilate new information, and to write and talk about complex issues clearly and concisely with a range of audiencesClean NZ Drivers LicenceWorking for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
