Civil Foreperson - Christchurch

BEW have additional capabilities in civil construction and have a trucking fleet for most projects. Bond Earth Works Ltd is a specialist asphalting company, predominately services Christchurch and the wider Canterbury area.

• This hands on role will require you to provide leadership and management to your crew by planning, offering clear direction and controlling site activities whist also working alongside the team in the field.
• Planning, organising, directing and controlling the activities and operations of road construction works, residential and commercial work.
• Collecting site data such as quality information and progress information
• Ensuring work is completed to a high standard and all targets (productivity, quality and safety) are met

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the Civil Construction Industry across a variety of projects, ideally as a foreperson or 2IC.
• Previous experience as a detailed excavator operator including trim and final prep for asphalt
• A background in civil construction, earthworks, road construction and temporary works.
• Demonstrate leadership skill with the ability to guide and support team members.
• Full Class 2 licence with WTR endorsement (Minimum class 1 and WTR)
• Ability to communicate clear expectations to your team.
• Strong customer and commercial awareness on site
• Proficient at operating roading and civil equipment such as excavators, rollers, compactors etc
• Willing and able to assist the crew with manual labour tasks
• Earthworks/Roading and Drainage experience and a strong understand of roading and civil construction
• Passion and commitment to safety in the workplace
• Strong problem solving skills
• Ability to drive projects and complete within specified time frames and budgets
• Ability to understand and follow civil drawings and plans

Candidates must be residing in New Zealand and be a New Zealand Resident, Citizen or have a valid New Zealand Work Visa to be considered for this role.
