Qualified Teacher/Kaiako
One of our much-loved kaiako is flying the nest on an exciting overseas adventure, opening up a special opportunity for a passionate and qualified teacher to join our whanau here at Piccolo Preschool.
Nau mai, haere mai.
Piccolo Preschool is a small, heart-led early childhood centre in the middle of Ngamotu / New Plymouth. We’re just a short stroll from Pukekura Park and the moana, and our space is full of natural beauty, open-ended resources, and a whole lot of aroha.
We care and educate for tamariki aged 2 to 5, and we follow a Reggio-inspired approach—focusing on creativity, connection, and slow, meaningful learning. Small ratios and an unhurried pace mean we can truly get to know each child and support them to thrive.
Our kaupapa is grounded in four core values:- Pono / Integrity – being true to ourselves, our tamariki, and our practice
- Whanaungatanga / Relationships – nurturing strong, trusting connections with others
- Kaitiakitanga / Nurture – caring for people, place, and taonga
- Whakamana / Growth – uplifting and supporting each person’s potential
