We are seeking a capable and experiencedConstruction Quantity Surveyorwith proven expertise inland development,construction, andproject management. This is not a traditional QS role—you will be deeply involved in the end-to-end project lifecycle, contributing to strategy, commercial decision-making, and delivery execution from inception to completion.

Your Responsibilities will include:

Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and comprehensive cost plans for all project phases
  • Oversee tenders, procurement schedules, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Manage contract administration including progress claims, variation assessments, and final accounts
  • Monitor and report on project costs, ensuring financial integrity and budget compliance
  • Lead value engineering exercises and assist in preparing feasibility studies for prospective developments
Project Management & Delivery
  • Collaborate in project planning and scheduling, ensuring alignment with scope, timeline, and budget
  • Liaise with consultants, engineers, contractors, and key stakeholders to maintain effective project coordination
  • Maintain project risk registers and contribute to proactive mitigation planning
  • Attend site meetings, providing commercial insights and driving operational efficiency
  • Oversee project documentation, programme tracking, and milestone reporting
  • Support senior leadership with governance and performance reporting
  • Lead smaller projects independently and contribute meaningfully to the delivery of large-scale builds
Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of quantity surveying experience in New Zealand, ideally with project management exposure
  • Demonstrated track record in land development (e.g., subdivisions, civil infrastructure) and vertical construction (residential and commercial)
  • Familiarity with NZ building codes, planning regulations, and contract administration under NZS3910 and other contract formats
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • Professional membership with NZIQS, RICS, or PMP certification (or working toward) is advantageous
