About the Role

The Special Care Baby Unit at North Shore Hospital are looking for an experienced Health Care Assistant to join their team. Duties include changing sterilising fluids, cleaning equipment, stock management, baby clothes washing, answering the phone and doorbell, and keeping the unit and facilities (e.g parent lounge and overnight rooms) organised and clean.

About Us

North Shore Hospital has a 12 bed Level 2 Special Care Baby Unit that provides care for babies born as early as 32 weeks, and as small as 1500g, who require neonatal support.

Our SCBU team is dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive learning environment. We pride ourselves on our team culture and values, and on the excellent nursing care we provide in partnership to infants and their families. We value the contribution that nurses make and support their professional growth and development.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Experience working as a Health Care Assistant in a hospital setting
Strong customer service and communication skills
The ability to work independently with a mature, calm, and consistent personality, and the ability to work to support a team

An understanding of the importance of maintaining the highest level of tidiness and hygiene throughout the unit
