Whangarei - Auto Electrician
Install and wire vehicle electrical systems
- Diagnose and repair faults with testing tools
- Collaborate with engineers and production staff
Location: Dargaville, Northland
Type: Full-time / Permanent
Pay Range: $35 - $40 per hour (depending on experience)
Days: Monday to Friday (with occasional overtime or weekend call-outs)
Hours: Guaranteed at least 30 hours per week
The Company:We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Northland-based manufacturing business that produces specialist heavy vehicles and trailers. With a strong reputation for quality workmanship, safety, and innovation, they are seeking a skilled Auto Electrician to join their operations team in Dargaville.
Key Responsibilities:As an Auto Electrician, your main responsibilities will include installing, maintaining, and diagnosing electrical systems during the manufacturing process. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Installing and connecting electrical wiring, lighting, and control systems in trucks and trailers
- Fitting and wiring components such as taillights, indicators, ABS/EBS systems, reverse cameras, beacons, and solar setups
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults or malfunctions
- Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings
- Performing pre-delivery inspections to ensure electrical systems are fully operational
- Collaborating with engineers, fabricators, and production staff to meet build timelines
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment while adhering to health and safety regulations
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- At least 2 years relevant work experience, or a relevant certificate at NZQCF Level 3 or higher
- Strong knowledge of 12V and 24V systems
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals
- Skilled with diagnostic tools and electrical testing equipment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Must have a clean police record with no charges pending
