Part-time Lunch Cook

We are seeking a part time Lunch Cook.

Hours: 2 hours per day, Monday to Friday (School term time only)

Waitoa Catering is seeking a reliable and capable Lunch Cook to prepare and serve healthy meals as part of the Ka Ora, Ka Ako – Healthy School Lunch Programme. This role plays an important part in supporting the wellbeing and learning of the students by providing nutritious lunches each school day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve approx 40 daily lunches following the Ka Ora, Ka Ako nutrition guidelines
• Cater for a range of dietary needs, including allergies and special requirements
• Ensure a clean, safe, and hygienic food preparation environment
• Follow provided menus and recipes
• Work collaboratively with school staff to support the students’ needs

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has proven experience and is confident preparing meals in large volume.
• able to manage time effectively
• Is organised, dependable, and works well independently
• Has a genuine interest in supporting student health and wellbeing
• Holds (or is willing to obtain) a current Food Safety Certificate
• Understands the importance of working in a specialist school environment with sensitivity and care.
