The Business
AC Petfoods, together with NZMPL and Ruapeka Farms, is a large-scale operation with interests in pet food processing and farming. With over 70 employees across four sites (Ohaupo, Maungatautari, Te Aroha, and Kopu), we’re a dynamic business balancing tradition with innovation.
The Role
This is a hybrid role combining finance management, business administration, and systems support. You’ll deliver critical financial functions while also acting as the key internal support for our IT contractor, ensuring systems are maintained, processes are documented, and day-to-day issues are handled smoothly.
Your tasks include:
- Finance Support
Reconciling and preparing accounts to trial balance
Managing creditors, debtors, payroll, GST, FBT, PAYE
Overseeing financial and payroll systems for efficiency and compliance
Delivering reports and analysis to support decision-making
Stocktake reconciliation, livestock reconciliation, and farmer payments- Business Administration
Maintaining accurate business records (accounts, passwords, equipment, procedures)
Supporting the wider team with professional administration services
Building strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal teams- Systems & IT Support
Working alongside the IT contractor to support, maintain, and document business systems
Acting as the first point of contact for system queries and troubleshooting before escalation
Keeping systems secure, up to date, and aligned with business needs
Assisting with system upgrades, testing, and training staff on new processes
This is a role where you’ll keep the wheels turning — ensuring finance and systems are reliable, accurate, and well-supported.
The Person
We’re looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of finance, business operations and technology. You’ll have:
Strong financial acumen with MYOB experience
Solid Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, reporting)
Ideally, prior knowledge of Ostendo or similar ERP systems
Confidence to liaise with IT specialists and translate technical solutions into practical business outcomes
Attention to detail, with the ability to anticipate issues before they become problems
You’ll be service-oriented, proactive, and comfortable in a meat processing environment.
