AC Petfoods – Accounts & Systems Manager

Finance & admin all-rounder with systems savvy

30–40 hours per week (seasonal flexibility + WFH options)

The Business

AC Petfoods, together with NZMPL and Ruapeka Farms, is a large-scale operation with interests in pet food processing and farming. With over 70 employees across four sites (Ohaupo, Maungatautari, Te Aroha, and Kopu), we’re a dynamic business balancing tradition with innovation.

The Role

This is a hybrid role combining finance management, business administration, and systems support. You’ll deliver critical financial functions while also acting as the key internal support for our IT contractor, ensuring systems are maintained, processes are documented, and day-to-day issues are handled smoothly.

Your tasks include:

  • Finance Support

Reconciling and preparing accounts to trial balance

Managing creditors, debtors, payroll, GST, FBT, PAYE

Overseeing financial and payroll systems for efficiency and compliance

Delivering reports and analysis to support decision-making

Stocktake reconciliation, livestock reconciliation, and farmer payments
  • Business Administration

Maintaining accurate business records (accounts, passwords, equipment, procedures)

Supporting the wider team with professional administration services

Building strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal teams
  • Systems & IT Support

Working alongside the IT contractor to support, maintain, and document business systems

Acting as the first point of contact for system queries and troubleshooting before escalation

Keeping systems secure, up to date, and aligned with business needs

Assisting with system upgrades, testing, and training staff on new processes

This is a role where you’ll keep the wheels turning — ensuring finance and systems are reliable, accurate, and well-supported.

The Person

We’re looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of finance, business operations and technology. You’ll have:

Strong financial acumen with MYOB experience

Solid Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, reporting)

Ideally, prior knowledge of Ostendo or similar ERP systems

Confidence to liaise with IT specialists and translate technical solutions into practical business outcomes

Attention to detail, with the ability to anticipate issues before they become problems

You’ll be service-oriented, proactive, and comfortable in a meat processing environment.

Why Join Us?

Play a pivotal role in supporting systems and processes across a multi-site business

Flexible hours and WFH options

Work with a supportive team in a growing industry

Opportunity to be the go-to person for finance and systems support
  • This isn’t just an accounts role — it’s about being the trusted link between finance, admin, and IT.
