Join Newlands — a third-generation, Canterbury business since 1933.
We specialise in all things auto-electrical with service centres in Rolleston, Ashburton, and Timaru. We’re now looking for a Senior Sales Person to lead front-of-house sales activity in our busy Rolleston branch and to visit key customers one day per week to strengthen relationships and grow revenue.
Visit assigned customers one day per week across Canterbury for account management, prospecting, and follow-ups.
Complete accurate data entry (orders, inwards goods, POS/customer & workshop sales).
Answer calls professionally; provide quotes and ETAs.
Proven sales experience (automotive/auto-electrical advantageous) — or strong transferable sales ability and the drive to learn fast.
Confident relationship builder with excellent communication and a customer-first approach.
Strong accuracy and attention to detail; able to juggle priorities in a busy environment.
Proficient in MS Office (especially Outlook). Orion/SAM experience is a plus (training provided).
Team player who’s self-motivated, organised, and has a solid “can-do” attitude.
NZ residency or a permanent work visa is required.

What you’ll do: Deliver excellent customer service in-store, online, and over the phone.
Own monthly and quarterly sales targets and drive product/category growth.Visit assigned customers one day per week across Canterbury for account management, prospecting, and follow-ups.
Support workshop teams to find, price, and order product; coordinate with parts suppliers.
Keep the showroom looking sharp: restocking, merchandising, and general tidying.
Manage stock movements (inwards goods, battery room, branch replenishments).Complete accurate data entry (orders, inwards goods, POS/customer & workshop sales).
Answer calls professionally; provide quotes and ETAs.
Follow our Health & Safety plan and provide workshop reception cover as needed.
