Youth Worker - Part-time
The Child Youth Crisis Respite service provides respite for people aged between 5 and 19 years who are experiencing mental health and/or addiction issues. We offer a short-term, voluntary residential programme with a maximum 7 day stay. This service provides a short-term safe and secure home environment for the youth that we support.

The Position:
As a Youth Worker you will assist young people to make positive and long-lasting changes in their lives, which will be achieved through various means of support. You will help provide a safe and secure environment which allows them to gather information to ensure they can make informed choices, while assisting and encouraging them to participate in leisure activities and recreational pursuits.This position involves meal preparation and housekeeping duties.
Hours: 56 hours per fortnightWeek 1: Thursday and Friday 11pm - 7am the following day
Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Friday , Saturday and Sunday 11pm - 7am the following day
Skills and Experience:
- Relevant experience working with youth is essential
- Reliability and honesty with a high level of integrity
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand
- Holds a current Full NZ Driver Licence
- A Health and Wellbeing qualification or similar is preferable
- A passion for supporting people to enhance their lives
