About the Role

Reporting to the National Technical Manager, we have an opportunity for an experienced leader to take on the responsibility to lead our engineering and maintenance strategies across our operations network, including two manufacturing sites, quarries, and the Ravensdown-owned store network.

The role requires a positive mindset, with the ability to managing relationships with a range of stakeholders.

This role focuses on optimal performance, reliability, and compliance of all physical assets, including production equipment, utilities, and infrastructure. It will oversee companywide initiatives such as the capital asset management system, striving for consistency and alignment with long-term business goals, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

The role has one direct report and an additional in-direct report, that focus on the capital asset management system.

You will support our operations team to ensure that quality finished product is available on time and at the appropriate location to meet our end-user service level targets, ensuring that safety and environmental standards underpin everything we do.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive efficiency and continuous improvement to lead the most competitive manufacturing site in Australasia.
  • Develop and maintain a national engineering strategy aligned with operational goals.
  • Deliver on safety, wellbeing and sustainability targets including compliance with environmental standards and Resource Consents.
  • Foster a collaborative culture across maintenance resources at works, striving for consistency.
  • Provide high quality advice and expertise on complex projects as required
  • Ensure robust assessment and implementation of engineering and asset management strategies across the business.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance asset performance and reduce downtime.
  • Maintain your knowledge of relevant engineering practices.

About you

You have operational expertise with a strong engineering mindset and a passion for safety. You will be organised, with the ability to plan long-term asset management strategies. Your communication style provides clear expectations and direction.

Being commercially savvy with the ability to think and plan strategically, problem-solving and continuous innovation is what gets you up in the morning. Your ability to engage, influence and partner with others will be key to success in this role.

Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering.
  • 10+ years of engineering leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of commercial/industrial facilities maintenance.
  • Experience managing contractors and multi-site operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of asset management systems, reliability engineering, and regulatory compliance.
  • Sound financial acumen and business management knowledge
