**Mo te turanga - About the role:**

This service is designed to facilitate supervised contact between children and visiting parents or family members when supervision is required. We have a private purpose-built space that is safe for children to meet and stay connected with parent/whanau members.

**Key tasks will be to:**
  • Supervise Child Contact sessions
  • Provide a safe environment for service users
  • Ensure child safety is maintained
  • Build and maintain relationships with family/whanau
  • Supervised Child Contact administration
  • Mission support

**Mou ake - About you:**

Our ideal person will:

  • Be a passionate advocate for the safety and well-being of children
  • Have proven skills in work with children and families
  • Have experience in working alongside and supporting families in stressful situations
  • Have a recognised qualification working with children or equivalent
  • Have an understanding of trauma and attachment
  • Be commitment to being part of a supportive and dynamic team
  • Have excellent professional boundaries
  • Have efficient record keeping and computer literacy
  • Be able to understand and follow policies and procedures
  • Have a current First Aid Certificate which is desired but not essential as training isprovided
  • Have an understanding of and a commitment to upholding the values and mission plan of The Salvation Army.

**Hours of work: as required - Supervised Child Contact operating times are Tuesday to Saturday 8.30am - 6pm.**

**The starting wage** for this role will be **$29.21** gross per hour.
