This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive team dedicated to providing timely mental health triage and crisis response for children and adolescents experiencing moderate to severe mental health concerns.Working within Mauri Oho means being at the frontline of mental health care, where no two days are the same.

You will engage with tamariki, rangatahi, and whānau across a variety of settings, including homes, schools, GP clinics, community agencies, and hospital environments. The role requires a strong commitment to holistic, whānau-centred practice and the ability to respond effectively to complex and often high-risk situationsAbout the Role:As a Core Social Worker within the Mauri Oho team, you will play a critical role in ensuring children, young people, and their families receive safe, timely, and appropriate support and intervention.

You will work collaboratively alongside clinical, cultural, and community partners to provide comprehensive assessments and develop responsive care plans tailored to the unique needs of each whanau.Deliver comprehensive psychosocial assessments and intervention plansProvide care coordination and crisis supportPartner with community services, schools, and NGOs to ensure holistic and responsive careSupport children and whaanau navigating complex systems including Oranga Tamariki and the Family CourtTo be successful in this role, you will need:Registration with the New Zealand Social Workers Registration BoardA current Annual Practising CertificateMinimum 12 years of post-registration experience in Mental Health, ideally with experience in CAMHS , crisis response and trauma informed approachesA full NZ drivers licence with no limitationsStrong clinical reasoning, communication, and teamwork skillsCommitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, health equity and culturally responsive practiceWorking at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
