Scouts Aotearoa empowers young people across New Zealand to enjoy new adventures, experience the outdoors, build confidence, connect with others, and make a positive difference in their communities.

At Scouts Direct, our official online store, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our customers and volunteers have the resources and gear they need.

We’re looking for an Inventory Administrator to oversee the smooth flow of orders, stock, and customer service. This varied role suits someone who is organised, proactive, and enjoys taking ownership of both operational and administrative tasks.

Reporting to the Scouts Direct Manager, you’ll also provide cover for key responsibilities when required.

This position is located in a stock area within our open-plan office at the National Scout Centre, providing a collaborative office setting rather than a typical warehouse environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Print, pick, pack, and dispatch online orders.
  • Check status of customer payments.
  • Manage personalised product requests.
  • Process returns and resolve courier/delivery issues.
  • Prepare and dispatch pre-packaged items.
  • Maintain stock levels, rotate, label, count, and put away stock.
  • Assist with stocktakes.
  • Order and maintain supplies.
  • Maintain spreadsheets and records of stock, orders, and special requests.
  • Respond to customer enquiries, including website support.
  • Upload artwork to the website and update Facebook posts.
  • Provide administrative support to the Scouts Direct Manager.

This is a full time role (40 hours per week) with the possibility of reduced hours over the school holiday periods, based in Wellington.

Person Profile:

  • Experience in a distribution or retail environment.
  • Good computer skills, experience with Shopify, Xero and Google Workspace would be an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and numeracy.
  • Good physical ability.
  • Reliability and the ability to work effectively in a small team.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Alignment with Scouts Aotearoa values and principles.
  • An understanding of volunteerism.
  • Alignment to the core principles and values of Scouts Aotearoa.
