NK Carriers Limited is seeking an experienced Area Manager to join the team in Blenheim. The position involves overseeing routine fleet operations, coordinating vehicle maintenance and scheduling, and supporting operational planning in line with business requirements.
The ideal candidate will be capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced transport environment while ensuring efficient and well-organised fleet operations.
Key Duties:- Control and manage day-to-day business transport operations in the region to ensure all deliveries are completed accurately, efficiently, and within expected timeframes.
- Plan delivery schedules and streamline route planning to maximise productivity and meet customer service standards.
- Recruit, onboard, and supervise drivers and operational staff, ensuring they are trained to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
- Monitor fleet condition, schedule routine maintenance, and ensure all vehicles meet road safety and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Manage operational expenditures, including fuel, vehicle upkeep, and other running costs, to maintain cost-effective operations.
- Ensure strict adherence to workplace health and safety obligations and transport industry regulations.
- Respond promptly and professionally to delivery issues, customer concerns, and any operational disruptions.
- Establish and monitor KPIs to evaluate delivery performance and maintain high service levels across the operation.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and external service providers to support smooth operational workflows.
- Use logistics and transport management systems to plan routes, track deliveries in real time, and generate operational insights.
- Prepare routine reports outlining operational performance, cost efficiency, and key business metrics for senior management.
- Carry out additional tasks as required to support the overall efficiency and effectiveness of transport operations.
Required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week and you will be paid between $30-40 per hour.
Requirements for the Role- Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience.
- Ability to coordinate fleet operations, including vehicle scheduling and maintenance planning.
- Strong planning, organisational, and time-management skills to manage competing operational priorities.
- Clear and professional communication skills for effective liaison with drivers, service providers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Availability to work weekends as required by operational demands.
